The Reusable Abutment Cushion Extension Safety Barrier was developed in collaboration with C.U.E. Incorporated and will soon to be installed on some NASCAR racing tracks. Designed to reduce injuries and fatalities during crashes, this barrier is also being completely reusable and self-restoring. The unique material absorbs tremendous amounts of energy at impact, but then returns to its pre-impact shape. This technology won a recent R&D 100 Award.
